SCM allocates capital in a mix of stocks, ETFs and fixed income (bonds and bond proxies) depending on the age, investment objectives and risk profile of the client. We also invest in alternatives such as private real estate, private credit, and private equity funds for qualified clients.
We can take care of the paperwork for you. We'll need a copy of a recent statement from your broker or bank where the assets are currently held. And we'll need to open an account in your name at Charles Schwab & Co (if you don't already have an account with them). Opening a new account and transferring assets can normally be completed in a few days.
When you sign up with SCM, you are giving permission to us to manage your assets for you. This means that we will make trades on your behalf in your account at our discretion.
Our clients' financial assets are in the custody of Charles Schwab. We do not hold any assets at SCM.
Yes. While we prefer to consolidate our clients assets under one roof, we are happy to consider keeping your assets at your existing firm.
You can monitor your assets at any time online through the Charles Schwab website. You will receive monthly statements from Schwab and quarterly statements from us showing you the portfolio performance.
We are a fee-only firm where the fees are based on the amount of assets held under management.
Unlike many other advisory firms we do not sell any proprietary products. Our fees are based only on the amount of assets held.
We typically review the accounts with clients at least twice a year, and in some cases quarterly. We are always available to answer any questions you might have.
